About Huckleberry Cattle Co:

My wife and I started Huckleberry Cattle Company in July of 2004.  We have two boys, Gabe, age 6, and Benjamin, age 1 1/2.  We looked into various breeds of cattle to raise and came to the conclusion that Texas Longhorn was the breed for us.  They are gentle, intelligent, beautiful, and most importantly, low maintenance animals.

There was not a large number of these animals around aur area.  Therefore, we contacted the various registration agencies for local breeders.  After visiting and talking with breeders that raise most of the longhorn families, we purchased 10 animals from Longhorn M Cattle Co in Mount Vernon, Texas.  Our purchase included 4 cows, 5 heifers, and a bull calf.

We are very excited about our new members of the family.  We have three expecting mothers that will be delivering in the coming months.  Little Deb, our youngest cow, just dropped her first calf on August 18th of this year.  It was a beautiful white heifer with black flakes around the ribs.
